illumimatik explores modern laser-based forms and combines them with installations built around traditional incandescent lighting, salvaged from theatres, factories, and the depths of the internet—aligning his work with the upcycling approach in the visual arts. He gives a second life to worn-out lighting equipment, chemical apparatus and to any object that can be transformed into a source of light. He experiments with light, smoke, and space to create immersive, dense landscapes where atmosphere and sensation are more important than the actual visual spectacle. He’s been working at the intersection of art and technology for years—as a stage manager, operator and installation artist at festivals and various club spaces.
