Lives of the elderly have their own rules. Grandparents and their grandchildren at some point drift apart. Both worlds seem to have their own laws of time, where it flows at different speeds and in separate directions. Suddenly, there’s no time left for something of incredible value – being together, even for a short chat just to share a few memories. That’s why the organisers of UTDF want to remind everyone to reach out to their seniors through their “Send a Postcard to Your Grandma” program dedicated to families and the close ones of everyone attending the festival.
Send a postcard to your grandma or someone you love. It might seem simple, but there’s actually depth to it. Make them a nice surprise. Everything you need is an address and a will to share a memory with them. You’ll get a postcard and a stamp for free. Send love to your grandma and your close ones.
A festival is a busy time, but we encourage you to make this nice and traditional gesture to say hi from Białystok. Today’s world is highly digitised and allows you to reach out to anybody in just a few seconds. The amount of information we process makes us forget what, when and whom we sent something. A postcard is a nice little thing one can put behind the glass of their wall unit, in the mirror framing or on the dresser. And if you see it when visiting the recipient, it will make you happy and will remind you of the gesture. It’s all about it, about this warm and fuzzy feeling you will get!
“Send a Postcard to Your Grandma” is a natural continuation of the 50+ program launched in 2016 and has been present at every edition of Up to Date Festival since then. It’s a unique chance to bring together different generations and a chance for those who were young a bit earlier than us to also experience “our” musical culture. All you have to do is bring your ID that proves being at least 50 years old to gain free entrance to the festival and experience the youth culture of today.
