Richard Skelton pres. Imperial Valley live

On Friday, the Central Ambient Salon will be taken over by Richard Skelton, who will perform his project Imperial Valley live. The source material comes from television and radio broadcasts, documents, and oral histories, which, after extensive processing, were combined with recordings of acoustic instruments to create a rich, multilayered, textural soundscape. The project tells the story of migration and labor camps during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s. His music serves as both a tribute and a warning – the tragic events of the past are conveyed through evocative, dark, and emotionally charged sounds. Imperial Valley is a sonic experience that draws the listener into a dense, historical narrative, leaving a lasting impression of reflection and contemplation.
