Canes of Karabakh live
Friday 29.05·CENTRALNY SALON AMBIENTU·Galeria Arsenał Elektrownia
The Polish music project Canes of Karabakh is made up of three artists: Stanisław Matys, Olgierd Dokalski, and Paweł Bartnik. Their work moves at the intersection of avant-folk, post-rock, and subtle electronics, creating a sound that is both deeply emotional and richly textured. At the heart of the project is the duduk – an ancient wind instrument with a warm, primal tone that gives the music its signature melancholy while drawing on the millennia-old traditions of Armenian culture. The soundscape is further enriched by flugelhorn and electronic elements. The project’s namesake, Karabkh, is a hill in Armenia where the reed used to craft the duduk grows. Canes of Karabakh explores a dialogue between past and present, reflecting on the passage of time and the enduring power of cultural memory.
