Aleksandra Słyż is a Polish composer and sound artist whose practice unfolds at the intersection of music, technology, and interactive art. In her work, she explores the relationships between the human body, sound, and technological tools, treating them as equally important elements of the creative process. Her music is built on tensions between opposites – harmonious ambient collides with grainy, noise-laden textures generated both on modular synthesizers and through digitally processed recordings of acoustic instruments. She uses digital errors, microtonal fluctuations, and algorithmic processes as tools for shaping sound. Her compositions unfold slowly, revealing successive layers of timbre and building a dramaturgy based on subtle shifts in tone, space, and the perception of time.
