On February 7–8, 2026, DO WE REALLY CARE | Forum on Culture and Agency will take place at the Białostocki Teatr Lalek in Białystok. This two-day forum is dedicated to reflection on contemporary culture, well-being, and our individual and collective agency in a world shaped by constant change and global tension.

The Forum creates a space for dialogue between cultural practitioners, researchers, activists, local communities, and anyone interested in better understanding themselves and the rapidly transforming reality around them.

The 2026 edition marks the third edition of the Forum. The previous two editions were held as part of the Up To Date Festival. This year, DO WE REALLY CARE takes place for the first time as a standalone, independent event, expanding into a full two-day program dedicated entirely to reflection and exchange.

What will we focus on?

Key topics of the Forum include:

  • mental well-being and burnout,
  • fear of change and the courage to act,
  • the role of locality and peripheries in a globalized world,
  • ecology and the human–environment relationship,
  • mindfulness, responsibility, and long-term cooperation.

The program will feature panel discussions, lectures, presentations, workshops, musical events, and informal networking opportunities. Doors open daily at 3:00 PM, with the program starting at 4:00 PM.

OPEN CALL

We invite individuals and teams who wish to share their knowledge, experience, or an important story. We are looking for honest, attentive, and reality-based presentations from the fields of culture, science, activism, technology, or personal practice.

We are particularly interested in proposals related to the Forum themes, including reflections on Białystok as a peripheral yet high-potential city, as well as ecology, human–environment relations, and spiritual development understood as mindfulness, responsibility, and the search for meaning.

We do not accept sales-oriented or self-promotional talks. Both experienced speakers and first-time presenters are welcome.

The event is supported by the KPO programme.
